Spent a few hours cleaning the swing arm. I have another hour or so until it’s done. Then I’ll pull the old bearings/install the new. I’ll post some more pics when the swing arm is complete.

Threaded rod and washers worked great pulling the new bearings in on my bike One good thing the bearings are easy to get for the swinging arm unlike the suspension hope it goes well👍

I may end up going that route again! I just ordered a front number plate and headlight bracket - should be here in a few days. If I run across parts I need I tend to get them as I find them. The tools can wait but the parts may not be there tomorrow.

I made my own tool for removing the fork bushes from threaded rod and some specially shaped/ground plates. That works really well

Thanks for the links fellas, I need to order an inner bearing puller set like those... The install is a lot easier than removing old old bearings... Hopefully I'll be picking up an 83 PE175 project bike / former parts bike here shortly! The PE250 may get the deluxe treatment first, however, as I have new and high performance upgrade parts all over my parts shelves for it currently!
Your project is coming along well I must say, I envy your progress... I have far too many projects and ambitions to make much dedicated progress to any one particular project at a time...

Sorry it's been so long for an update - work keeps getting in the way of my personal life! I received the parts I ordered (front number plate and headlight bracket) from DC Plastics. The parts look good, I hope they fit well! Last night I ordered a "Buffer, Chain Defense" (nylon swingarm protector)from Babbitts Suzuki Partshouse. I've ordered from them before, always had good service from them. After ordering the parts I decided to go the inexpensive route on the bearing puller/installer (at least for now - Santa is coming in a month). I went to the local hardware store, bought some allthread, washers, and a few nuts to make a bearing puller. Here you can see the parts I used along with the old bearings that were removed. It wasn't difficult, but I wonder how easy it will be to install the new bearings... Ready to remove a bearing.

Looking good buddy!
Hopefully I'll have a PE175 this winter to rebuild alongside my PE250B! The 83 Full Floater I was talking to a guy about, his nephew became interested in, but he still may sell it to me. Otherwise I'm torn between Full Floater and twin shock 80-81.
My buddy David has an '84, and he makes it through all the toughest stuff we do at Wayne National Forest and southeastern Ohio trails that all the modern bikes do, and his 175 is by no means lacking in power, it always has enough to make it through anything we do (woods riding, not much wide open, some real tight/tough) at good speed in comparison. the 38mm forks and Full Floater really made the 82 PE175 at the top of the woods bike heap for it's time. The 82 or 83 IT200 (thru '86 - last year and only for disc brake IT's) topped the 82-84 PE175 though, but that's the ONLY BIKE I'll say that about from that era! Then came the 86-88 KDX200...the last of the vintage air cooled enduro bike kings.

I’m still here, haven’t done anything on the bike over Thanksgiving. I’ll get back at it this weekend. Some parts came in the mail, some are on back order.

Question of the day...I need to replace the 2 seals for the rear brake shaft that goes through the swing arm. The part number is 09285-19001 which is no longer available. Anyone have a good source for these hard to find parts?
Worst case - am I correct when I say the seal size is 19x24x3? If so, where can I source some seals? I’ve been all over the internet but can’t find anything.

I may have had a bit of luck finding the swingarm oil seals. Found them on EBay- they should be here in a week. Hopefully they fit!

I haven’t quit - waiting on more parts. I just ordered some spherical bearings for the “cushion lever”, some dust seals, bolts, etc. my new side panels arrived today. I hope I get this thing done while I’m still young enough to ride!
