I'm looking for an 82-84 PE175 complete airbox assembly. Someone Leith referred to me has a parts bike that they got running good, but was missing the seat, airbox, & shock. Although he's piecing together the shock now. I'll be buying it if I can track down these missing items.
Thanks!

I had the exact same issue with my '82 PE175. I was lucky enough to find a complete airbox on eBay - I'll keep an eye out for you...

Still looking, a few leads, but nothing has panned out yet at all. I did end up buying the former parts bike that was missing the airbox, and missing a lot of other parts...

If you can make it this swap meet usually has some PE's for sale and perhaps parts.

Thanks, but York PA is quite a long drive from me, 6.5 or 7 hours iirc?
Does anyone know if an 82-83 RM125 airbox will fit it? It carries different part numbers but takes the same filters. The side covers I know are different on the RM vs PE boxes.
RM500 filters are the same as well, but it has an RM500 airbox in it right now that doesnt fit hardly at all, 4 mounting points dont line up, carb mounting is larger, shimmed with tape, etc...

Airbox info for the 82-84 PE175: NU 2434ST is the correct air filter part# for the 82-84 PE175.
The 82 to 84 PE175's share the same filters as RM250 1981-1983, RM465 1981-1982, RM500 1983-1984
Suzuki parts numbers 13781-14200 & 13786-14210, requires two of each.
The RM125 X,Z & D, have two different size filter housing making a left & right filter, four different part numbers for the complete set.
Right hand side 13781-14100 Inner filter or secondary( fine foam ) Left Hand side 13782-14100 Inner filter or secondary( fine foam ) Right hand side 13786-14100 Outer filter or secondary( course foam ) Left Hand side 13787-14100 Outer filter or secondary( course foam )
Or Uni filter NU 2435ST.
Hope this info helps. Not sure if the airbox assembles all share common mounting points and/or carby boot sizes. Probably not, as the 125s have a 32/34mm carbs and the 250s & open classes have 36/38

Chuck, have you considered making your own airbox out of fiberglass or pop riveting an aluminum one? Or out of carbon fiber? ;-) The last would be my first choice. I have a friend who makes repairs to his street bikes and custom parts. I've watched him use the cloth and resin. He starts withs a thin balsa model and then ... It would be a good, but expensive project. Something like this. Just brainstorming. It's called a "box". How hard can that be ;-) (feel free to ignore the suggestion, LOL) In my youth, I and a machinist friend added a reed block to a 175cc Hercules. Awesome bike. I had to modify the stock airbox and used fiberglass sheets & resin after cutting to make it sized to fit. Fiberglass is easy to work with and easy to repair. That airbox never failed.

I'm trying to go back to the stock look and fit, and a rubberized box is way easier to get out if the way to pull the carb... It has an RM500 box on it now, with some electrical tape on the carb horn making up the difference in carb diameter... I could fab up some brackets to bridge the gap between the 175 frame tabs and the 500 airbox tabs, & run a Lectron 34mm carb that'd fit more appropriately, but I'm really trying to get it back to factory in tbe airbox department. If course a single sided airbox, one could just detach easily to get out if the way as well...

Hello, have you still got the RM500 airbox at all and is it for sale? Cheers Gaz.
