Hi
Over the weekend we did a Vinduro, was great fun. But the 250 when holding the throttle close to full taps for about 8 seconds (long straights on farm roads), the bike dies and comes back when I tap off.
No pinging.
Anyone have any ideas?

I would say/guess you have a fuel flow problem or float level problem, I'm thinking either gas tank vent is not working or fuel tap is not flowing fuel sufficiently or float level is off. Fuel flow problem includes fuel line kinks or fuel filter not working properly. If everything is in good order; #1 Checking the float level is fairly easy. And it would be a good place to start and make sure the float bowl is clean and all the jets are tight and haven't come loose. #2 Remove the fuel filter, ride the bike & see if the problem still exists.I'm sure you have the right fuel line diameter? #3 Checking the fuel flow from the tap is trickier to measure but that would be the #1 spot I would check. Did you seal your gas tank? If so, that could have been the cause for decreased flow .... Only valid if you did seal the tank but you could clean the in-tank filter.
Last would be a gas tank venting problem, once a vacuum is created it's my experience the fuel stops flowing and doesn't return so ... I'll try and think about other causes but it's only guessing without the bike available.

Thanks Admin ;-)
Tank is not sealed - I assume you are talking about an internal epoxy coating. I will check the cap to make sure it can breath.
I have replaced the fuel tap to increase flow already as I believe the old PE ones were very slow and tended to leak easily.
Filter, could be blocked, but is new - second ride, but will be the first thing to check.
Carb cleaned and checked before ride, but again I can check again, and most definitely it could be the float level.
Thanks for the feddback.
