I have an issue with my PE250T where it will not rev out past 1/2 throttle and has me baffled.
Starts first kick and runs great otherwise.
It feels like the main jet is blocked or weak spark but neither are the issue.
I have other PE's so have swapped the carb and electrics from my other bikes that are known to be good but still have an issue.
The bike was bought with a genuine 40 miles from new so I suspect the issue has been there since new and the original owner gave up on it.
Interestingly the only way it will rev out is if the petrol tap is turned off which again makes no sense as that would lean the mixture. I tried changing the jets and checked the float height, all of which made no difference.
I am hoping someone else has had the same issue and can help before I take the engine apart?
Thanks, Matt

"Interestingly the only way it will rev out is if the petrol tap is turned off which again makes no sense as that would lean the mixture. I might have thought float height but you have checked that.
How is the exhaust & muffler? is that blocked? That still hasn't been swapped or checked?

Exhaust restriction or air intake restriction? Somewhat off topic but, I chased a similar problem on mine. I "cleaned" that carb. I don't know how many times. I borrowed a carb. and it ran great. I decided to clean mine one more time. I found a piece of old air filter foam stuck in one of the tiny ports that had been eluding my notice.
