Is the '77 PE250B headlight the same as the SP370 headlight, just with the enduro guard bars bolted on the sides to protect the glass lens?

Is the '77 PE250B headlight the same as the SP370 headlight, just with the enduro guard bars bolted on the sides to protect the glass lens? Except for a few small items in the mounting pivots, all the part numbers are different. I have a parts catalogue for the SP370 which includes the basic model, as well as the 'special' parts for various other markets. In all variants of the headlight assembly, it shows the glass and reflector being a single piece (unlike the PE unit, for which glass and reflector were supplied as separate items). Despite all of that, the SP370 assembly may fit and work on the PE and few people could probably tell the difference! Do you own the assembly in the picture? If not and you have no headlight at the moment, I think it would be worthwhile buying it. The chances of it not fitting are likely very low, but let us know how you get on. Regards, James

However, the SP370 assembly would be a worthwhile spare if there is any likelihood of the original being broken. Regards, James

No 77 PE light is unique size but same as current and all past model TF suzukis so still available brand new.
You can see in that photo that the SP uses double chrome rims and the insert is adjustable left to right.
SP is larger 5.75" size light (much more common size & easy to get good aftermarket inserts for). You could still fit it on a PE of course.
